In Touch
East of England
Winter 2017

In this issue of In Touch you can find out about a new five-year initiative with Huawei to establish a joint research and collaboration group at the University of Cambridge. There’s also news about the government funding of a £4.7 million to boost economic growth in the East of England and a government report which BT senior researchers contributed to.

Adastral Park has also been busy hosting more students at an innovation hothouse and a robot challenge. We’ve been helping unemployed young people from Norfolk get ready for work through our work placement scheme. And you can read about a brand-new BT and Experia funded multi-sensory cabin for young people with physical and learning disabilities at Thomas Wolsey School in Ipswich.

There’s also an update on Connecting Cambridgeshire which has been hailed a success by Government Minister Matt Hancock. And it’s good news for new housing developments across the region who have agreed a co-funding deal with Openreach which will bring fibre broadband to new housing developments.
